As a member, you may also have access to a nationwide network that allows seamless coverage if you live, work, or travel outside of Western Pennsylvania.
Our members have access to:
- All UPMC providers as well as affiliated hospitals and physicians, including UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Shadyside hospitals
- Up-to-date preventive care
- The latest medical advances
Customer Service
Our Member Services department provides you with friendly, personal attention when you have a question or need to update your health plan information.
No red tape or hassles. We don't require a referral to see an in-network specialist. UPMC Health Plan has always given you the freedom to seek the specialty care you need — without a referral and without waiting to see a
primary care physician.
Prescription Drug Coverage
UPMC Health Plan offers a pharmacy program that helps you manage your prescription drug costs and allows freedom of choice. Our retail pharmacy network includes hundreds of locations throughout the region. If you prefer, medication can be delivered to your door by our national mail-order pharmacy.
Healthy Living Rewards
Also included in your UPMC Health Plan membership, at no extra charge, is our exclusive member discount program, Healthy Living Rewards. With your Health Plan member ID card, you can receive discounts at participating gyms, spas, salons, health food stores, and more. You can find a list of all the discounts available in your provider directory.
Pediatric Advice Line (PAL)
UPMC Health Plan has recently introduced an after-hours advice and triage service for our members with children age 18 and younger. Our Pediatric Advice Line (PAL), available through a partnership with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, is staffed by experienced pediatric registered nurses.
When you call, the nursing staff will assess your child's current medical status and provide advice in accordance with physician-approved protocols.
