David Weir

David Weir, CSP, ARM, is president of UPMC Work Partners, one of the largest and most capable providers of disability-related services in Southwestern Pennsylvania. In this capacity Mr. Weir leads three major programs and services within the UPMC Insurance Services Division: Disability Management Services, EAP Solutions, Inc., and UPMC Health Plan Health Promotion. These entities partner with employers, including many of the region’s largest, to develop and deliver innovative programs and technology that result in increased employee productivity and improved health care cost containment.

Before becoming president of UPMC Work Partners in 2003, Mr. Weir served for six years as vice president of Network Development & Claim Services for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to that he was assistant vice president for the brokerage firm of Sedgwick James. Mr. Weir earned a B.S. in Health and Safety from Indiana University. He also holds Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Associate Risk Management (ARM) certification.
