Stephen E. Perkins, MD, Named Senior Medical Director for UPMC Health Plan
PITTSBURGH (May 26, 2010) – Stephen E. Perkins, M.D., has been named Senior Medical Director for UPMC Health Plan and will provide strategic and clinical leadership as well as medical oversight for the Health Plan’s commercial product.
Dr. Perkins will also serve as Senior Medical Director for UPMC Work Partners’ suite of workers’ compensation, employee assistance, health promotion, and health management products.
Dr. Perkins, who for the past 12 years has been Corporate Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, will be responsible for assuring the clinical commitment and delivery of high quality, cost effective health care to UPMC Health Plan members.
Dr. Perkins is a graduate of West Virginia University and the WVU School of Medicine.
