Joan Erney Named Chief Business Development Officer for Community Care
PITTSBURGH (May 26, 2010)—Joan Erney, former Deputy Secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, has been named Chief Business Development Officer for Community Care, a behavioral health managed care organization based in Pittsburgh.
Ms. Erney worked in the Office of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services at DPW, and was appointed Deputy Secretary by Gov. Edward Rendell in 2003. She was responsible for the program, policy, and financial management of the delivery of behavioral health services in Pennsylvania.
At Community Care, Ms. Erney will be responsible for applying her public policy expertise at the state and federal level as it relates to health care reform, regulation, and strategic planning. She will also be responsible for identifying and developing new market opportunities and product opportunities for Community Care.
