Depression case management expanded

          
UPMC Health Plan and Community Care Behavioral Health are expanding their depression case management program. This program will be available to all UPMC Health Plan network providers for members who are enrolled in UPMC for Life, UPMC for Kids, and most UPMC Health Plan commercial products. It is also available to UPMC for You members residing in Allegheny County.

UPMC Health Plan network providers can now request assistance with coordinating behavioral health issues for a UPMC Health Plan member through a dedicated toll-free number
(1-888-777-8754). A licensed behavioral health clinician can provide assistance with:

• Member education regarding depression, treatment options, and community resources
• Coordination of behavioral health referrals or obtaining actual appointments based on the clinical issues presented
• Clarification of benefits or insurance-related issues

Care coordination and feedback to the PCP will be provided in each case. The goal is to provide comprehensive, coordinated treatment for the member by assisting the member in obtaining the necessary level of care and appropriate follow-up.
