Practice Rewards Program

In October 2007, UPMC Health Plan kicked off the Mammogram Practice Rewards Program. We believe this is a great way to recognize the efforts you made to this very valuable initiative. A big THANKS to all of the physicians and their office staff for assisting with HEDIS initiatives during the last half of 2007.

We are now looking forward to the UPMC Health Plan Practice Rewards Program for 2008. The focus areas will be introduced on a quarterly basis as follows:

First quarter 2008 — Cervical cancer screening; HRA completion/use — January

Second quarter 2008 — Colon cancer screening; annual physician visit — March

Third quarter 2008 — Screening mammography; HRA completion/use — October

Fourth quarter 2008 — Influenza vaccine; annual physician visit — Fall/Winter

Each quarter, a representative will present information and resources on the conditions listed above. In addition, the Health Plan will post the same and other supporting information on our website page and in “Accountable Provider Update.”

All practices, regardless of Health Plan membership, were eligible to participate in each of the areas outlined above, beginning January 1, 2008. The practices in each market segment with the most improvement will be recognized quarterly and at the beginning of 2009.
