Annual report wins award

UPMC Health Plan’s current annual report — titled “Changing the Landscape of Health Care”— features Health Plan members, physicians, and employees who share a commitment to protecting the most precious resources of the region: the men, women, and children of Western Pennsylvania. The report details the Health Plan’s commitment to preventive care, health management, and improving the health of members and local communities.

The report was honored by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) in its 2006 Vision Award Annual Report Competition. More than 2,500 entries were judged and the Health Plan was presented with a Gold Award. Last year, the Health Plan won a Silver Award from LACP for its 2005 annual report.

“UPMC Health Plan is committed to remaining a local resource for our members,” writes Diane P. Holder in her President’s Letter. “Our major focus is on Western Pennsylvania, and we are proud of our efforts and results in the region.” The Health Plan offers members an extensive network, the finest health care from world-renowned medical experts, the latest medical breakthroughs, and the most innovative and effective health promotion programs in the region. Over the last year, the Health Plan developed and implemented additional ways to give members the tools needed to improve their health, including easy online access to personal health information, telephone coaching, and health improvement programs.
