- Answer all questions politely. Remember that even though you hear the same question dozens of times, it may be the first time that a particular individual has asked that question.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity at all times. Do not discuss a client, member, and/or provider unless you are involved in the case. Never hold confidential discussions in a public area. Your office cubicle is considered a public area
Orientation
Every staff member is required to attend several orientation programs at times during your first several months of employment.
Orientation acquaints new staff members with the philosophies, organizational structure, and policies of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in general, and of UPMC Health Plan, in particular. Orientation also assists you in enrolling in the benefits programs, and gives you an opportunity to ask questions about your benefits and learn more about UPMC Health Plan procedures. Attendance at all orientation programs is required so that you understand these important guidelines and procedures and ensure your successful transition to employment with UPMC Health Plan.Benefits
