As a UPMC for Life member, you are assigned a special phone representative with whom you can speak on a regular basis. Through this relationship, you can rest assured that your concerns will be a top priority and handled with care.

What is a Health Care Concierge?

A Health Care Concierge is a phone representative who provides you with personal assistance and support regarding your medical coverage — at no additional cost to you. Your concierge is your health care advocate and will help you resolve any issues you have with your health care. The concierge can answer questions related to your benefits, your prescription medications, your copayments, provider issues, and billing questions or concerns.

How do I know who my Health Care Concierge is?

New UPMC for Life members receive a welcome letter and, within a short time, a concierge contacts them by phone to introduce himself or herself. If you have not received a phone call but would like to speak to your concierge right away, please call 1-800-818-8762. You will be connected with someone who can give you the name of your concierge. After you speak to your Health Care Concierge, you will receive a magnet with your concierge’s name and telephone number.

Your Health Care Concierge will call you on a regular basis. You’ll hear from him or her on special occasions, such as your birthday, and your concierge will also call to inform you about special events related to your benefits.
