Question
I read about Active&Fit™ and Silver&Fit™. What are the differences between these two programs?
Answer
UPMC for Life’s Silver&Fit program was designed specifically for UPMC for Life members and incorporates exercise, healthy aging classes, and activities to help you become and remain physically fit. You’ll choose from a number of convenient network fitness clubs where you can exercise and learn about fitness, participate in community social activities, and access a website featuring educational materials. Or, if you prefer, enjoy the benefits of fitness DVDs, hand-held weights, and stretch bands with our Silver&Fit@Home program™, at no additional cost. Silver&Fit is available to members of UPMC for Life’s HMO and PPO plans.
Active&Fit is for members enrolled in our specialty plan. Like Silver&Fit, this program is designed to help members take charge of their health and well-being.
- Membership at any one of a number of convenient fitness clubs, including access to cardiovascular equipment, resistance equipment, and standard amenities
- Access to www.UPMCActiveandFit.com, an interactive member website
- A toll-free member service hotline to answer questions about the program
