Quality is our concern

At UPMC Health Plan, the quality of health care our members receive is very important to us. Our Quality Improvement Committee is dedicated to improving service and quality of care in addition to promoting hospital safety.
 
In 2007, UPMC Health Plan’s Quality Improvement Program had many successes. Quality of care has improved. More members were advised to stop smoking by their doctors. Care for members with respiratory conditions improved. Providers checked members who were taking medications for heart disease more often.
 
In 2008, the Health Plan will focus on improving women’s health, cardiac care, diabetes, respiratory care, and childhood and adolescent care.
