UPMC Health Plan is always looking for ways to use technology to make health care delivery more efficient and affordable. E does just that. This all-new, all-electronic option streamlines communication between you, your employees, and the Health Plan.

Whether you are currently offering UPMC Health Plan benefits to your employees or are considering it for the first time, the all-electronic option can be incorporated into most benefit plan packages. All-electronic can mean not only a reduction in printed paper and administrative requirements, but a reduction in cost. Groups who choose E, and have less than 100 employees, will receive a 2% discount on monthly premiums. For groups with 100 or more employees, please contact your UPMC Account Manager or Sales Representative.

Which processes can be accessed electronically? 

  1. Quoting
    Company with 2-50 eligible employees
    You directly submit your company’s application online, and a UPMC Health Plan representative will contact you within one business day to initiate the quote process. After all of your employees complete and submit online medical questionnaires, a final rate will be provided.

    Company with 51+ eligible employees
    You directly submit your company’s application online, and a UPMC Health Plan representative will contact you within one business day to initiate the quote process. After all your employee e-mail addresses are received, a final rate will be provided.

  2. Employee Application
    For companies with 2-50 eligible employees, this application must be completed online at your employees’ convenience. For groups with 51+ eligible employees, please e-mail your UPMC Sales Representative for details about an enrollment application; upmcsalessupport@upmc.edu.

  3. Employee Status Updates
    Give that fax machine a rest. When you choose E, you will be able to perform membership changes and account upkeep without filling out forms to mail. And, because you make all updates online, they are submitted immediately to the Health Plan database.

  4. Billing
    Through the secure Employer OnLine website, you may review your bills and bill history, and pay through UPay, UPMC's exclusive electronic bill payment system.

  5. Welcome Kit
    Your employees can access plan- and member-specific documents that are securely stored and available 24/7 when they log in to MyHealth OnLine. The welcome kit contains everything from certificates of coverage, benefit riders, and schedules of benefits, to wellness information. Members can also easily find a doctor, hospital, or other health provider online.

  6. Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
    An explanation of benefits shows payments made to health care providers by both the member and UPMC Health Plan. Your employees receive e-mail alerts when their EOBs are available at MyHealth OnLine.
