If you join one of the UPMC for Life HMO plans, you will have to choose one of our plan providers that are listed in this directory to be your Primary Care Physician (PCP). Generally, you must get your health care coverage from your PCP.
If you join one of the UPMC for Life PPO plans, you do not have to choose a plan provider that is listed in this directory to be your PCP. You can still receive covered benefits from any doctor or hospital in the UPMC for Life network. The UPMC for Life PPO plans also pay for covered services when you visit a doctor or medical facility that is NOT included in the UPMC for Life network.
