UPMC for Life Health Care Concierge

As a UPMC for Life member, you have a special team of Health Care Concierges** who are dedicated to helping you understand your benefits and answer your questions.  With just one call, you’ll get in touch with a concierge who can help you:

  • Find a network doctor or hospital
  • Get answers to your benefits questions and explain how your health plan works
  • Explain your premium bill
  • Manage your prescription drug costs

Our Health Care Concierge team also makes personal calls, such as:

  • To celebrate your birthday
  • To notify you of special events related to your benefits or health care
  • To check on you if we haven’t heard from you in a while

UPMC Health Plan's call center has been recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for providing "An Outstanding Customer Service Experience."

The UPMC Health Plan call center is a J.D. Power and Associates certified call center. This certification included successfully completing an audit and exceeding a national benchmark for satisfaction on a survey of our members. Our members evaluated our performance in these factors; courtesy; knowledge; concern for the customers; usefulness of the information provided; convenience of operating hours; ease of reaching a representative; and timely resolution.

UPMC Resources for Life

Your Health Care Concierge can also connect you to a team member who has been specially trained as a UPMC Resources for Life** representative. This program offers expanded services designed to help you find resources for managing everyday living issues, such as:

  • Legal guidance for taxes, trusts, wills, elder law, and establishing power of attorney and living wills
  • Financial counseling for household budgeting, retirement planning, and preventing identity theft
  • Community resources that can provide information about volunteer opportunities, caregiver support, elder care, transportation, and in-home services
  • Short-term counseling over the telephone to help with everyday life challenges, including stress, depression, and family matters
