Come and meet UPMC for Life representatives at community events in your area. We also hold special events for our members such as health walks, community health fairs, and flu shot clinics. In addition, we sponsor special community events, such as Zoo Walks, and provide local events for National Senior Health and Fitness Day and other activities.
Below is a list of some of the community events we’ll be attending in the upcoming months. Please feel free to come see us at the UPMC for Life table.

UPMC for Life members are invited to walk at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium every other Wednesday starting now through October 28, 2009. Admission is complimentary for UPMC for Life members and one guest before 10 a.m.*

After the walk, members and their guests are invited to stay at the zoo and enjoy the exhibits.
*Admission is complimentary for UPMC for Life members and one guest until 10 a.m. Members must show their UPMC for Life membership ID card to gain complimentary admission. Guests do not have to be UPMC for Life members, but must accompany a member to gain no cost admission. Members must pre-register at least 24 hours before the scheduled walk by calling our Member Services department at 1-877-539-3080, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. TTY/TDD users call 1-800-361-2629. For accommodations of persons with special needs, please call the number above.

Senior Safari Walks

UPMC for Life members can walk at no cost* two times a month. There are no scheduled dates so members can walk anytime during zoo hours (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) from March 1 through September 16.
Members who walk at least once a month for five months will be invited to a healthy breakfast and a private behind the scenes tour at the Erie Zoo on October 2, 2009.
Fill out the stamp card you received in the mail and bring it to the Erie Zoo each time you walk. An Erie Zoo attendant will mark your attendance in the specified boxes.
Turn your completed card into the zoo admission gates by September 16, 2009, and you will be eligible for the healthy breakfast and behind-the-scenes zoo tour. Please note that if you lose your stamp card once the zoo attendant has started filling it out, it will be difficult to replace and credit will not be given for prior stamped attendance.
*You must have a stamp card with you to gain no cost admission to the zoo. Stamp cards can be obtained at the Erie Zoo when you show your UPMC for Life membership ID card to an attendant. No cost admission only applies to UPMC for Life members. |
