UPMC Health Plan Behavioral Health Services (UPMC HP BHS) is a department within the Health Plan staffed by licensed behavioral health clinicians who provide triage, referral, and case management services for Health Plan members with behavioral health issues. UPMC HP BHS assists Health Plan members in obtaining high-quality behavioral health care. Behavioral health services include treatment for:

• Emotional difficulties
• Bereavement issues
• Marital or family problems
• Mental health disorders
• Substance abuse or dependence

Care Managers
Our care managers are trained nurses who identify problems and work with your physician to develop treatment plans based on specific medical needs. They can provide members with educational tools through periodic mailings, online resources, and regular phone calls.

Personal care managers are available to members enrolled in our Condition Management programs, which currently include:

• Heart disease
• Diabetes
• Respiratory health
• Depression

Members with Pharmacy coverage may also be eligible for home delivery for maintenance medications and access to a broad network of over 38,000 retail chain and independent pharmacies, including:
