If you have employees who live or work outside of UPMC Health Plan’s regular service area, they can have seamless access to routine care through our partnerships with Private Healthcare Systems (PHCS) and complementary MultiPlan network and Medical Mutual of Ohio (MMO). PHCS and Multiplan have a network of nearly 550,000 providers and 4,500 facilities across the country. MMO serves our members who live or travel in Ohio through its more than 190 hospitals and 20,000 physicians. Members also have access to a network of more than 30,000 pharmacies throughout the U.S., including regional and national chains as well as hundreds of independent retailers.

When traveling more than 100 miles from home, your employees continue to have easy access to emergency care through our travel assistance partner, Assist America^®. This benefit enables your employees to locate doctors and hospitals and also handle emergencies wherever they go. Assist America personnel can help replace prescriptions, provide emergency medical evacuation, and arrange transportation for family members to join sick or injured relatives.
