UPMC Health Plan's utilization management decisions are based only on what is medically necessary and appropriate for our members under the terms of their benefit coverage. The Health Plan does not offer compensation, financial incentive, or rewards for the denial of coverage or service. The Health plan does not use incentives to reward inappropriate restriction of care.
