When members are more active in their health
care decisions, they receive care that is more
efficient and effective and could result in lower
out-of-pocket costs.
UPMC Consumer Advantage is a consumer-directed health plan
(CDHP) from UPMC Health Plan that provides resources and tools so members
can have more control over their health care decisions.
What is a consumer-directed health plan?
A CDHP helps fund your deductible and medical expenses by combining
a savings account and a qualified high-deductible health plan. UPMC
Consumer Advantage offers a full suite of health care products,
including health promotion programs and online
tools through MyHealth OnLine to help our members have
greater control over their health care. And UPMC Consumer Advantage
fully covers preventive care without having to satisfy the deductible.
- UPMC Consumer Advantage is easy to use and manage.
- Preventive care is 100% covered and is not subject to the deductible.
- All in- and out-of-network coverage counts toward the deductible.
- Out-of-pocket limits are low for in-network care, so they can be
quickly met.
- Medical services are covered at 100% at in-network facilities after
the annual out-of-pocket limits are satisfied.
UPMC Consumer Advantage offers two types of CDHPs, distinguished
by the type of savings account that is offered. Both our Health Savings
Account (HSA) and Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) products are convenient
and easy to use.
