A collaborative group of physicians, nurses, and pharmacists from the Health Plan, the community, and UPMC, decides on a list of medications—called a formulary—to include in our pharmacy programs. They base their decisions on safety, effectiveness, and cost.
Depending on the plan chosen by your employer, you may have the Your Choice, the First Choice, or the Value Choice pharmacy program available to you.
The Your Choice Pharmacy Program
The Your Choice pharmacy program provides
value and freedom of choice by offering you a
variety of high-quality, cost-effective generic
and brand-name prescription drugs.
When you need a prescription medication, you
and your doctor can choose medications from four different
levels, or "tiers," to help you manage your
prescription drug costs.
This gives you and your doctor the freedom to
choose the medication that is right for you while
helping you to choose how to best spend your
health care dollars.
If you are a Health Plan member and would like more details about the
pharmacy program offered by your employer, including any copayments
that may apply, log in to MyHealth
OnLine to review your pharmacy plan documents.
