UPMC Health Plan staff member quits 27-year smoking habit
	Thanks to UPMC's smoke-free campus, the free smoking cessation services and products offered to staff, and support from her colleagues, a UPMC Health Plan staff member was able to quit smoking for good. Her husband is now taking advantage of a free smoking cessation program available to spouses enrolled in the Health Plan. Through telephone counseling sessions with a UPMC Health Coach, he is learning about how to quit smoking.
UPMC Health Plan member receives emergency services through Assist America while away from home
	While shopping in a major American city more than 100 miles from his home, a UPMC Health Plan member suffered a massive heart attack. Local physicians evaluated him and determined that he had to be hospitalized for an extended period of time. Assist America contacted his wife and arranged to bring her to her husband's side. Assist America continued to monitor the member's condition. When he was ready to go home, Assist America arranged for the member and his wife to return to their hometown with a nurse escort.
