Reporting Fraud and Abuse to UPMC Dental Advantage

The Plan has established a hotline to report suspected fraud and abuse committed by any entity providing services to members. The hotline number is 1-866-FRAUD-01 (1-866-372-8301), and it is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Voicemail is available at all times. Callers may remain anonymous and may leave a voice mail, if they prefer. TTY users should call 1-800-361-2629.

Some common examples of fraud and abuse are:

  • Billing for services that were never provided to the member
  • Billing more than once for the same service
  • Falsifying records
  • Performing and/or billing for inappropriate or unnecessary services
