UPMC Community HealthChoices understands the important role caregivers play in the lives of our members. The resources below are available to help caregivers best serve their loved ones.

Aging Institute caregiver resources
The Aging Institute recognizes the complex and intensive needs that caregivers face in their caregiving journeys. The Aging Institute website can provide caregivers with valuable information and resources, including: geriatric medical care, education and training, advanced planning, social and emotional support, and more.

Pennsylvania Department of Aging caregiver support
The Pennsylvania Department of Aging offers numerous resources to support caregivers of older adults and people with disabilities. Resources include information regarding legal issues, support groups and coping strategies.

Coaching and Support
If you are an unpaid, live-in caregiver for a UPMC Community HealthChoices participant who receives long-term services and supports you may be eligible to receive individualized coaching support through in-home visits and user-friendly technology. Eligible caregivers may also receive a daily stipend based on participant’s level of need.
