CARING FOR LIFE • Issue Three • 2021 7 Primary care provider (PCP): Your PCP is a great resource for medical advice and answers to questions about your health. Many PCPs have same or next-day appointments. Some even offer telehealth video visits 1 for certain health needs. If you don’t have a PCP, you can find one by going to findcare.upmchealthplan.com/browse and entering your UPMC for Life member ID number under the I’m a Member tab. You can also call your Health Care Concierge team. If you would like to schedule a same- or next-day appointment with a UPMC provider, call 1-855-913-2707 (TTY: 711) and say that you are looking for a same-day appointment. You can call Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. UPMC AnywhereCare: You have 24/7 access to online video visits with a UPMC provider 2 for common medical needs such as colds and flu, sinus infections, coughs, and sore throats. Download the UPMC AnywhereCare app to start your visit. If using a desktop, go to UPMCAnywhereCare.com. Urgent care: Get immediate medical care in person without an appointment at a participating urgent care center. Most urgent care centers are even open seven days a week. To find a participating urgent care center, go to findcare.upmchealthplan.com/browse and enter your UPMC for Life member ID number under the I’m a Member tab. If you are experiencing a life-threatening health situation, you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. After you are discharged, contact your PCP as soon as possible to schedule follow-up care. Know your options for the next time you need care! When you aren’t feeling well, it’s important to know where to get the right care. This could save you a trip to the emergency room! 1 Your copay for a telehealth visit may be the same or less than seeing your doctor in person. See your Summary of Benefits for details. 2 UPMC Health Plan members located in Pennsylvania at the time of virtual visit may select a UPMC-employed provider or a provider from Online Care Network II PC (OCN), subject to availability and discretion of the provider. Members located outside of Pennsylvania will receive service from OCN. OCN is not an affiliate of UPMC. You may have a copay for a virtual visit. See your Summary of Benefits. 3 UPMC nurses who answer calls are licensed to assist members in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Ohio.
