19 Over-the-counter (OTC) allowance The UPMC for Life Complete Care over-the-counter allowance allows you to buy health and wellness items you need. 3 How it works: You will receive a quarterly allowance. This allowance rolls over each quarter but must be used in full by the end of the calendar year. The quarterly allowance is split between a retail card and mail order. • Retail card: can be used at participating stores and is available to members who live in western and central PA. • Mail order: can be used through our mail-order catalog.
