9 How to get care Your PCP It’s important to see your PCP for most of your health care—including preventive services and when you’re not feeling well. Your PCP knows your medical history and can develop a personal care plan for you. Many PCPs now offer same-day and weekend appointments. UPMC My Health 24/7 Nurse Line Experienced registered nurses are available to give you general health information or facts about a specific medical issue anytime on the UPMC My Health 24/7 Nurse Line. They can help you determine what care you need to treat your injury or illness. 1 After you describe your symptoms, the nurse will tell you the best way to treat your condition at home or advise you to seek medical care. You can call the UPMC My Health 24/7 Nurse Line at 1-866-918-1591 (TTY: 1-866-918-1593). You can call anytime—day or night—at no cost. Telehealth benefit You can connect with your doctor without leaving home. You can virtually visit with your doctor over the phone or online if your provider participates in telehealth. For most plans you have a reduced copay for in-network specialist telehealth visits. Your provider must be in the same state as you during your visit. Talk to your doctor to see if using telehealth is right for you. UPMC AnywhereCare Need to see a doctor fast but don’t have a lot of time? UPMC AnywhereCare offers convenient access to care for common medical conditions through an online virtual visit. You can virtually visit a UPMC provider straight from your computer, day or night. This service works best for common conditions such as colds, the flu, sinus infections, coughs, sore throats, urinary symptoms, back pain, sunburn, pink eye, or poison ivy. 2 Go to UPMCAnywhereCare.com to get started. Urgent care If you need care right away but aren’t experiencing a life-threatening emergency, you can visit an urgent care center. To find a participating facility, visit upmchealthplan.com/find or call your Health Care Concierge team. Emergency department care If you experience a life-threatening health situation, you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. After you are discharged, contact your PCP as soon as possible to schedule follow-up care. PCP 911 URGENT CARE
