Save money when filling your prescriptions UPMC for Life gives you a variety of low-cost, easy-to-use options to get your medications. You can save money when you use preferred pharmacies or our mail-order pharmacy. To find participating pharmacies near you, visit upmchealthplan.com/find or call your Health Care Concierge team. Retail pharmacies • Our network includes standard pharmacies and preferred pharmacies. You can go to either type of pharmacy to pick up your prescriptions. • Preferred pharmacies have agreed to offer our lowest copays for covered prescription drugs. Standard pharmacies do not offer our lowest copays. • That means you can save money when using pharmacies in our preferred pharmacy network. You will have a $0 copay when you fill a preferred generic prescription (Tier 1) at a preferred pharmacy during the initial coverage phase. • Here are some of our preferred pharmacy locations: Giant Eagle, Rite Aid, Sam’s Club, Walgreens, and Walmart. Mail order If you’re filling a 90-day maintenance prescription, you can save money at our mail-order pharmacy, Express Scripts Inc. Your out-of-pocket cost for preferred generic, generic, and preferred brand will be lower than purchasing three 30-day supplies at a standard pharmacy. Our mail-order pharmacy will mail medications directly to your home or any address you’d prefer. Use our mail-order pharmacy for prescriptions you take on a regular, long-term basis. For example, you generally wouldn’t use Express Scripts for antibiotic medications, but using it for a blood pressure medication would make sense.
