24 Preventive care services UPMC for Life covers most preventive care at 100 percent when you see a participating provider. That means you can get this important care at no additional cost to you. Check with your PCP to find out what preventive care is right for you. Preventive services fall into three categories: 1. Annual wellness visit. Your annual wellness visit can help you stay healthy. Use this valuable time with your doctor to review your overall health and discuss the preventive screenings and exams you may need. 2. Screenings. Here is a partial list of screenings that are covered at no additional cost to you: alcohol use, blood pressure, bone mass measurement, colon cancer, depression, diabetes, glaucoma, HIV, mammogram, obesity, Pap, pelvic, prostate cancer, and ultrasound for abdominal aortic aneurysm. 3. Immunizations. Getting the immunizations you need can help you avoid getting sick. Most people should get a flu vaccine annually. You may also want to get the pneumonia, tetanus, and shingles vaccines. Talk to your doctor about the immunizations they recommend for you. Additional copays may apply for some vaccines. For more information, call your Health Care Concierge team. A separate copay may apply if additional medical services are received during the same visit or if your screening becomes diagnostic in nature. The rewards you deserve are back for 2021!
