Jonathan Encarnacion Named to Regional Health Equity Council

 

PITTSBURGH (Nov. 25, 2014) – Jonathan Encarnacion, administrative director for UPMC for You Lehigh/Capital, has been selected to serve a three-year term on the Mid-Atlantic Regional Health Equity Council (RHEC), an organization dedicated to ending health disparities in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

Encarnacion, who is based at UPMC Health Plan’s Harrisburg office, will be one of 17 council members serving on RHEC. Members come from several sectors including state government, higher education, health care delivery, private foundations and managed care organizations.

As an administrative director, Encarnacion is responsible for leading efforts to develop product markets in Central Pennsylvania for UPMC Health Plan. In addition, Encarnacion is responsible for developing collaborative relationships and service improvement opportunities in UPMC Health Plan’s service area.

Encarnacion joined UPMC Health Plan in 2009. Previously, he had served as director of the Hispanic Center of Reading and Berks County. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has an MBA from Alvernia University of Reading, Pa.
