UPMC Health Plan opens new Connect Service and Sales Center in Altoona’s Logan Valley Mall

Service and Sales Associates Available to Answer Health Insurance Questions

PITTSBURGH (December 12, 2016) – UPMC Health Plan Service and Sales Associates are now available to answer shoppers’ health insurance questions as well as assist in selecting a plan to meet their health care coverage needs at a new location in Logan Valley Mall. Personalized assistance is available at the Center whether a person is a current UPMC Health Plan member, looking for new coverage, or who has health insurance questions.

“We are happy to invest in the community and offer current members and consumers convenient, comfortable and comprehensive experience at this new location,” said Marybeth Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer at UPMC Health Plan.

The Center will host A Special Marketplace Enrollment event on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Individuals are invited to stop by for one-on-one assistance with an associate to find the best plan; determine if they, like many others who don’t know they do, qualify for a federal subsidy; and enroll in a plan.

During mall hours throughout the year, consumers looking for information about the Marketplace or those with questions about their health insurance coverage can meet one-on-one with a Service and Sales Associate. Individuals with questions about Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Special Needs Plans (SNPs), or simply those who need help finding the right health coverage, can find answers at a UPMC Health Plan Connect Service and Sales Center. Individuals may also purchase health insurance coverage at the center.

There are more than 110,000 UPMC Health Plan members in the Altoona area and membership is growing. Current members can make monthly premium payments, receive assistance with claims and billing issues, locate providers, change PCP selection, request a replacement member ID card or get answers to benefit questions.

UPMC Health Plan boasts award-winning customer satisfaction, and staff members are experts at assisting customers with health coverage decisions. No appointment is necessary to meet with a Service and Sales Associate; however, they are encouraged.

UPMC Health Plan operates Centers at four Allegheny County locations: Monroeville Mall, Ross Park Mall, South Hills Village, and The Mall at Robinson. In addition, a Center is located in the Millcreek Mall in Erie, PA.
