Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women in the United States. The low-dose CT lung cancer screening test can improve lung cancer survival rates by finding signs of the disease at an earlier stage.
UPMC Health Plan has established credentialed Lung Cancer Screening Centers of Excellence that include interdisciplinary teams with extensive experience in lung health and tobacco-related illness. The members of these teams have the necessary expertise to coordinate follow-up care and education, as needed. The goal of this screening program is to help your patients receive the best possible care, in the safest of environments.
