Member Meetings

Join UPMC for Life at one of these special events – just for members

You can learn about your 2019 plan benefits along with all the additional programs you get just for being a UPMC for Life Dual (HMO SNP) member. You can also talk with UPMC Health Plan staff, get your yearly flu vaccine, and receive other preventive screenings (at select meetings).

Remember, if you are happy with your current plan, you do not need to re-enroll. Your coverage will continue for 2019.

Here are some of the important topics we’ll cover:

  • 2019 plan benefits. We’ll go over your plan benefits for January 1.
  • Extra benefits and services. Get information on your vision, dental, and hearing benefits. Don’t forget, you will have a $3,000 yearly allowance for comprehensive dental services starting January 1. That’s an increase of $500 from 2018!
  • Help to manage your medical conditions. Care experts will be available to offer health tips.
  • Health Care Concierge. Meet our dedicated Concierges and get personal assistance.
  • Over-the-counter wellness card. Learn more about how to use your over-the-counter wellness card. You receive a $125 quarterly allowance that you can use to buy covered wellness items at participating locations.
  • Transportation. We’ll explain how to take advantage of your free transportation benefit. Remember, you receive 50 one-way (25-round) trips to medical appointments and pharmacies.
  • New for 2019! Personal training. Learn how to get a FREE personal training session in addition to your FREE gym membership.
  • Enhanced for 2019! Be safe at home. You have access to a FREE in-home safety assessment from a trained provider plus up to six bathroom safety products such as a handheld shower head, grab bars, a nonslip bath mat, and more.

In-person meetings

UPMC for Life will present information about your 2019 plan benefits. You can get your yearly flu shot as well as other preventive services (at select meetings). See below for more detail.

If you plan to receive preventive screenings, RSVP right away! Members who respond will be first to receive preventive care. You will be asked to present your member ID card. Only UPMC for Life members are eligible to receive preventive services.

For accurate results, do not eat or drink anything but water for 12 hours before your scheduled screening. Please check with your health care provider if you are concerned about fasting. You may drink water and you should take any medications that you normally take. Light refreshments will be available following the preventive services.
