UPMC for Life Dual members can join a local participating fitness facility at no additional cost. The Active&Fit® program can help you get physically fit and stay active. Here are some membership perks:

- The option to work out at home with the Active&Fit Home Fitness Program
Standard fitness facility services are covered with basic membership. Non-standard services that have an added fee are not part of the Active&Fit program.
You can choose to work out in the comfort of your own home instead of joining a fitness facility. With the Active&Fit Home Fitness Program, you can choose two of these Home Fitness kits: Cardio Strength, Walking, Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi (Beginner or Intermediate), Aqua Aerobics, Stress Management, Dance, and Chair Boxing as well as several others. Kits are mailed to you and may include a DVD, booklet, and Quick-Start guide.
UPMC for Life Options members do not have the Active&Fit benefit.
UPMC for Life Dual members can select up to six different bathroom safety products from a menu of items. The bathroom safety kit includes safety products such as a transfer bench, a hand-held shower head, bath mats, and raised toilet seats. This is available to members at no cost. UPMC for Life is not responsible for the assembly or installation of the products included in the bathroom safety kit. Prior authorization is required.
UPMC for Life Options members do not have a bathroom safety product allowance.
UPMC for Life Dual members can receive home-delivered meals after they are discharged from an inpatient hospital stay, or a skilled nursing facility stay. This benefit is included in your plan at no additional cost to you. It includes 14 meals delivered to your home. We’ll work with you to coordinate your first week of meals when you’re back home so you don’t have to. Prior authorization is required.
UPMC for Life Options members do not have the meal service benefit.
Assist America provides help when you travel more than 100 miles from home or even to another country. Help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, anywhere in the world. Assist America provides these services:
- Emergency medical evacuation
- Hospital admission assistance
- Medical monitoring
- Round-trip transportation for a family member or friend (if traveling alone)
- Help replacing forgotten prescriptions (additional costs may apply)
- Assistance with local language communications
- Member transportation if medically necessary
- Arranging for transport of mortal remains
Assist America does not replace your UPMC for Life emergency benefits. If you have an emergency, go to the nearest hospital or urgent care facility. You will be covered under your UPMC for Life medical coverage.
As a UPMC for Life member, you can call the UPMC MyHealth 24/7 Nurse Line for health advice 24/7. You can get general health information or facts about a specific medical issue. Experienced, registered nurses are on hand 24/7 to provide you with prompt and efficient service.
UPMC nurses who answer calls are licensed to assist members located in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. Members must be located in one of those states when calling the UPMC MyHealth 24/7 Nurse Line.
UPMC AnywhereCare gives you access to low-cost, high-quality care for common medical conditions through a virtual visit. UPMC AnywhereCare providers* are easily accessible over live video straight from your smartphone, tablet, or computer – anytime, day or night for a $0 copay. The service works best for conditions such as colds and flu, sinus infections, coughs and sore throats, urinary symptoms, back pain, sunburn, pink eye, and poison ivy.
*UPMC Health Plan members located in Pennsylvania at the time of the service will have a virtual visit with a UPMC-employed provider. If a member is located outside Pennsylvania, the service will be delivered by a separate provider group — Online Care Group (OCG). UPMC AnywhereCare is currently not available in Texas or Arkansas.
MyHealth OnLine is your one-stop destination for health care tools. This secure member website allows you to view your plan benefits. You also have access to health and wellness tools, your plan benefits, claims, and much more. Once you become a UPMC for Life member, we’ll send you information on how to log in and get started.
