Virtual senior academy New for 2022! Get health and wellness education through interactive online and face- to-face education courses at no cost. You can choose from a variety of classes, including healthy eating, cooking, fitness, art, and many more. You’ll also get connected to other participants throughout Pennsylvania. Ready to get started? Here’s how to sign up: • Go to virtualsenioracademy.org and click Sign Up. • Enter your basic information, create a password, and click the box to accept the terms of service. Then click Next. • If you would like, you may enter your address, phone number, gender identity, race, and age range. This information is optional. It is not required to sign up. • For organization, select UPMC for Life from the dropdown. Enter the UPMC Code: UPMCSNP. • Complete the remaining prompts to finish the sign-up process. Transportation 1 Getting to and from your health care appointments is important. That’s why UPMC for Life Complete Care covers one-way and round-trip transportation to plan-approved locations at no cost. You can get a ride to doctor appointments, health care facilities, and pharmacies. Trips should be scheduled two weeks in advance of your appointment. To schedule your trip, call 1-844-335-5921 (TTY: 711) Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. SilverSneakers You can use SilverSneakers ® to keep your health and fitness on track. Take advantage of these benefits: • Unlimited FREE gymmemberships and one FREE personal training session per year at participating fitness facilities. UPMC for Life is still here for you! Your health coach will create a customized plan for you and help you use doctor-recommended activities to reach your health and wellness goals. Plus, you can connect with your health coach through chat to get one-on-one assistance when you need it. RxWell is FREE and it’s easy to use anytime, right from your smartphone. This program has a variety of topics that you can choose from: Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Weight Management, Nutrition, Physical Activity, Diabetes Management, and Ready to Quit (tobacco cessation). Download RxWell from your device’s app store. Home safety You have access to benefits that can help you live safely and independently at home. • In-home safety visit. All members get one free in-home safety assessment per year. A licensed health care professional will come to your home and give you tips and advice for how to make your home safer. • Home safety products. 3 UPMC for Life Complete Care members can choose up to six bathroom safety products per year at no cost. Product options include a nonslip bathmat, a transfer bench, a shower chair, a handheld showerhead, a clamp-on tub rail, a raised toilet seat, and a plug-in light. Members in western PA can also choose from home safety products as part of their six products per year.
