Medical care and advice when you need it

Telehealth benefits

UPMC for Life members can connect with participating doctors and providers face-to-face through a video appointment. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer that can show video and has a microphone.

Your provider must be in the same state as you during your visit.

Virtual care

You can access the care you need using your mobile device or computer — right from the comfort of your home.

Here are the virtual care options available to UPMC for Life members. Log into the UPMC Health Plan member site or UPMC Health Plan app to get started:

  • 24/7 video visits* — 24/7 high-quality health care for a variety of nonemergency illnesses, including cold and flu symptoms, allergies, sinus infections, and more.
  • Ask a Pharmacist — Our pharmacists can help you understand each of your medications, suggest ways to save money, and answer your questions. They can even talk with your doctor if you are experiencing side effects.
  • Health and wellness coaching Free, ongoing support from a health coach to help you make lifestyle changes and work to become your healthiest self.
  • Talk therapy — Connects you with licensed therapists for mental health evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment via telehealth. Available 24/7 for scheduling, but not a crisis service.
  • Psychiatry — Offers mental health evaluation, diagnosis, and medication prescriptions by certified medical doctors. Appointments are available 24/7, but controlled substances cannot be prescribed. This is not a crisis service.

*UPMC for Life members who are in Pennsylvania at the time of a virtual visit may select a UPMC- employed provider, subject to availability and discretion of the provider. Members located outside of Pennsylvania at the time of service or those who select Talk therapy or psychiatry services will receive care from a provider employed or contracted by Online Care Network II PC (OCN), also known as Amwell Medical Group. OCN is not an affiliate of UPMC. Providers are not available to treat members who are in Puerto Rico.

If you think you may be experiencing life-threatening symptoms, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.
