Home safety products

Many of our UPMC for Life plans allow you to choose six home safety products per year at no additional cost. Product options include:

  • A nonslip bathmat.
  • A transfer tub bench.
  • A shower chair.
  • A handheld showerhead.
  • A clamp-on tub rail.
  • A raised toilet seat.
  • A plug-in light.
  • A couch cane.
  • A reacher.

For more information about the home safety products available, see our home safety product catalog. Not all plans or service areas offer home safety products. Compare UPMC for Life plans in your area. Plans that do not offer this are HMO No Rx (HMO) and PPO Salute (PPO).

In-home safety visit

All UPMC for Life members get one FREE in-home safety assessment per year. A licensed health care professional will come to your home and give you tips and advice for how to make your home safer.

Call your Health Care Concierge team at the phone number on your member ID card to order your home safety products or schedule an in-home safety visit.

UPMC for Life does not install home safety devices or reimburse for costs associated with the installation of home safety devices. UPMC for Life is not liable for improper installation, repairs, or other modifications. Members are responsible for any and all costs associated with installation.

Enrollment in UPMC for Life depends on contract renewal.
