This is not the first time ICMI has recognized UPMC Health Plan for customer service excellence. It won Global Call Center of the Year in 2017, 2015, and 2012, as well as earned other honors throughout the years. ICMI is the leading global provider of comprehensive resources for customer management professionals who wish to improve customer experiences and increase efficiencies.
UPMC Health Plan earned three 2019 Gold Stevie Awards for its outstanding sales and customer service: Best Back-Office Customer Service Team, Best Front-Line Customer Service Team, and Best Medicare Telesales Team. In 2018, UPMC Health Plan earned three Gold Stevie Awards for its sales and customer service, and in 2017 earned a Gold Contact Center of the Year Award. The Stevie Awards are the world's premier business awards.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation named UPMC Health Plan one of the “2019 Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” because of its policies, benefits, and practices. The Health Plan earned a 100 percent rating—an honor no other health plan in our region achieved.

National Committee for Quality Assurance

UPMC Health Plan Commercial HMO product was rated 4.5 out of 5 in NCQA’s Private Health Insurance Plan Ratings in 2018-2019. Its Commercial PPO product was rated 4 out of 5. They are among in the highest-ranked plans in the nation.
UPMC for You is one of six Medicaid plans in Pennsylvania to earn an overall rating of 4 out of 5 in NCQA’s Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Ratings for 2018-2019.
UPMC for Life’s HMO, PPO, and Special Needs Plans received 4 out of 5 stars in the Medicare Star Ratings. These scores measure plan quality and performance, and they tell members how well our plans coordinate preventive care, manage chronic diseases, and provide customer service.
UPMC for Life also earned an overall 4 out of 5 rating in NCQA’s Medicare Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2018-2019.
