- Shared Housing and Resource Exchange (SHARE) Program: This program pairs homeowners who want to share their home with home seekers who are looking for housing in exchange for a contribution to living expenses, help around the house, or a combination of both. Financial Assistance
- Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency: Offers no-cost personal financial education for renters and homeowners, as well as loans for homeowners.
- Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program: The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older.
Utility Assistance and Weatherization
- Pennsylvania Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Offers financial help to low-income households to pay their heating bills.

- Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network: Provides information on civil legal issues and answers to many housing related questions.
- HUD Fair Housing- It’s Your Right: Explains rights if you feel you have been discriminated against in housing.
Homelessness Resources
- UPMC Homelessness Continuum Program: Serves families and individuals in Allegheny County who are homeless and living with a mental illness and/or substance abuse disorder.
- HUD-Pennsylvania Homeless Information: Lists local shelters and homeless service groups.
Nursing Home Transition Program
The UPMC Community HealthChoices Nursing Home Transition Program assists UPMC CHC participants who want to move from a nursing facility to a home of their choice in the community.
