Voluntary nationwide recall: Atorvastatin (Alkem – October)

Nov. 2025Pharmacy Updates

Ascend Laboratories LLC is recalling multiple lots of Atorvastatin Calcium Tablets USP. Atorvastatin is used for the treatment of high cholesterol and to reduce the risk of certain cardiovascular events, such as heart attack and stroke.

This drug is being recalled because the products do not dissolve at the expected rate in the body. This may cause the product to be less effective.

To see if your medication was recalled, contact your doctor or pharmacy where you received it or visit the FDA website below. If you have an affected lot of Atorvastatin, you should stop using the product and return it to the place of purchase or discard it.

As of Oct. 10, there had been no reports of adverse events related to this recall.

To learn more about this recall, you can take one or more of the steps below.
