Job navigation
Are you looking for a job or a new career path? UPMC Pathways to Work can help. Through this program, you can connect to employment resources in UPMC, UPMC Health Plan, and the community. Our recruiters have regular office hours at the Neighborhood Center, so stop by or call us to make an appointment. To learn more about this program, visit upmchealthplan.com/pathwaystowork.
Food access
The Neighborhood Center is home to Second Harvest Marketplace1, a Healthy Pantry Initiative in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania. The Marketplace offers fresh produce, meats, and dairy items, as well as shelf-stable and frozen foods at no cost. After confirming eligibility with Second Harvest, families and individuals can “shop” at the Marketplace—just like a regular grocery store. An appointment is required; please call Second Harvest at 814-459-3663 for more information.
Referrals to supportive resources
Do you need help with a challenging life situation? UPMC Health Plan’s community health workers can offer referrals to social services and supportive resources in your community. These include affordable housing and transportation supports, mental health services, childcare assistance, and more.
Mental health and well-being
In partnership with UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor, UPMC Hamot, and the Hamot Health Foundation, the Neighborhood Center will offer health and wellness programs. Bringing a full spectrum of behavioral health services to the community makes it easier to access people you trust for care that helps your body and mind.
Community partner connections
We collaborate with local organizations such as CareerLink®, BUILD CDC, Redevelopment Authority of Erie (RACE), Erie’s Black Wall Street (EBWS), the Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC), and many others. These partnerships aim to provide access to affordable housing, emergency rental relief, financial assistance, literacy and education services, legal aid, job navigation, and other support services.
Community conference room
Need a place to host a training session, community program, or meeting? Our conference room can be used free of charge by nonprofit organizations that meet the social service needs of our community. Fill out our Community Conference Room Reservation Form to book the room.
Office space availability
Reserving office space at the Neighborhood Center gives organizations and individuals the opportunity to host services, programs, or meetings that benefit the local community. These spaces support outreach efforts and community engagement by providing an accessible, welcoming environment. To reserve an office, fill out our Office Space Reservation Form.
