Third Consecutive Year the Plan Has Ranked #1 Among Medicare Advantage Plans in Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH, PA (Sept. 8, 2025) – UPMC Health Plan’s UPMC for Life—the Medicare Advantage plan that is part of the Health Plan’s family of insurance and benefit management products —has earned the highest score in Pennsylvania in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Medicare Advantage Study℠ of members’ satisfaction with their Medicare Advantage health plan experiences. This is the third consecutive year that UPMC for Life has received this designation.

UPMC for Life achieved the top ranking due in part to top scores for all eight dimensions of the study:

- People (representatives, call center agents)
- Resolving problems or complaints
- Digital channels
UPMC for Life meets members’ needs through Member Services and also with affordable plan options and practical, meaningful supplemental benefits. This year those benefits include dental and vision allowances, a significant discount on hearing aids, and a prepaid Flex Spend Card to help support members’ health and independence.
Additionally, members can choose a plan that offers the SilverSneakers® fitness program with unlimited free gym memberships, free home safety products, and caregiver classes.

The U.S. Medicare Advantage Study, now in its 11th year, measures member satisfaction with Medicare Advantage plans—also known as Medicare Part C or Part D—based on eight factors (in order of importance): level of trust; able to get health services how/when I want; helping to save me time or money; product/coverage offerings meet my needs; ease of doing business; people—representatives, call center agents; resolving problems or complaints; and digital channels.
The 2025 U.S. Medicare Advantage Study is based on the responses of 10,888 members of Medicare Advantage plans in 10 market-based U.S. regions: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. It was fielded from January through June 2025.
