PITTSBURGH (Jan. 7, 2026)—UPMC Health Plan has been named a 2025 Human Experience (HX) Pinnacle of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey, the global leader in health care experience solutions and services. This award is part of Press Ganey’s annual ranking of the top health plans, hospitals, and health systems across the country, according to performance in a variety of experience metrics. 

As a Press Ganey HX Pinnacle of Excellence Award® recipient, UPMC Health Plan is recognized among the top 5 percent of health plans nationwide for delivering exceptional member experiences. This distinction reflects Health Plan’s leading performance on the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey in the following categories: highest overall CAHPS ratings and highest plan services ratings for its UPMC Community HealthChoices product, as well as the highest overall CAHPS ratings for its UPMC for Life product.

The CAHPS survey is a standard survey tool for collecting and measuring enrollees’ experiences with health plans and their services.  

This prestigious honor reflects unwavering commitment to understanding and prioritizing the voices of its members. Press Ganey partners with more than 85 percent of U.S. health plans in its mission to advance member experience, reduce friction points, and create a seamless healthcare journey.

Communication with members was key in achieving these scores. UPMC for Life members receive reminders, newsletters, and a member guide to encourage the use of their extra benefits, including dental, vision, and hearing coverage, and the UPMC for Life Flex Spend Card and Shop Healthy Card, and preventive screenings reminders to help fill gaps in care. UPMC Health Plan has many digital tools that make it easy for members get or find care and receive answers when they call their Health Care Concierge team.
