Your pharmacy plan gives you access to a broad network of retail pharmacies nationwide, including CVS, Rite Aid, Sam’s Club, and Walmart; regional chain pharmacies such as Giant Eagle, GIANT, MARTIN’S, and Wegmans; plus hundreds of independent pharmacies.

When you take your prescription to any in-network pharmacy, the pharmacist will confirm your coverage, fill your prescription, accept your copayment, and process your claim. Aon Benefit Experience participants also have access to out-of-network pharmacy benefits.

Sempre Health

UPMC Health Plan has partnered with Sempre Health to give you some savings for being responsible for your health. With the program, you can earn discounts on your medications for filling and taking them as prescribed. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive information from Sempre on how to get started.

New for 2024: Select Generic Medications Tier

In 2024, UPMC Health Plan will launch the Select Generic Medications Tier. It will include an expanded list of medications with no member cost share (deductible may still apply). Removing the cost share for these high-value generic drugs will eliminate a barrier to medication adherence for members with chronic conditions.
