The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency ended on May 11, 2023

The federal government put the Public Health Emergency (PHE) in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Once the PHE ends, cost-sharing waivers that were applied during the PHE will change. Beginning on May 12, the following services will have a cost share in accordance with your plan documents:

  • COVID-19 diagnostic and antibody testing
  • Prescription antiviral treatment
  • Telemedicine, office, urgent care, and emergency room visits to diagnose COVID-19

More information in the COVID-19 reimbursement letter.

Please note: With the exception of members of Congress or designated Congressional staff, the Health Insurance Marketplace does not affect FEHB Program enrollees. For additional information, visit OPM's website.

This is a summary of the features of UPMC Health Plan. Before making a final decision, please read the Health Plan's federal brochure RI 73-797. All benefits are subject to the definitions, limitations, and exclusions set forth in the federal brochure.

2UPMC Health Plan members who are in Pennsylvania at the time of a virtual visit may select a UPMC-employed provider, subject to availability and discretion of the provider. Members located outside of Pennsylvania at the time of service will receive care from a provider employed or contracted by Online Care Network II P.C. (OCN), also known as Amwell Medical Group. OCN is not an affiliate of UPMC. Limitations may apply for members of ASO plans that have opted out of coverage. Providers are not available to treat members who are in Puerto Rico.

3UPMC nurses who answer calls are licensed to assist members in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, New York, and Ohio. Members must be in one of those states when calling the UPMC MyHealth 24/7 Nurse Line. The UPMC MyHealth 24/7 Nurse Line is not a substitute for medical care. If an emergency arises, call 911 or go to the emergency department. Nurses cannot answer plan or benefit questions. Please call the Member Services phone number on the back of your ID card for questions regarding your plan benefits.

It is important to know that when you enroll in this plan, services are provided through UPMC Health Plan's participating providers as described in UPMC Health Plan's federal brochure — but the continued participation of any one doctor, hospital, or other provider cannot be guaranteed.
