Dental Coverage

Dental care is important to your child’s overall health. That’s why UPMC for Kids covers many dental services, including:

• Two routine exams per year, including cleanings and fluoride treatments
• Dental x-rays
• Fillings
• Other dental services
• Braces (when medically necessary, requires a prior authorization)

The UPMC for Kids network includes general dentists and specialists. A list of participating dental providers is available on the provider search page.

Members can call Dental Member Services at 1-888-257-0350 to get a dentist's name or to learn more about what dental benefits they have. TTY users should call toll-free 711.

Your managed care plan may not cover all your health care expenses. Read your member handbook carefully to determine which health care services are covered.
