Betsy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Allegheny College. She also earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Psychology in Education (currently the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences). She was an active certified rehabilitation counselor for 25 years and is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Betsy has over 30 years of clinical experience in the design and implementation of evidence-based clinical services and programs, including over 25 years with UPMC, 12 years of which are with the UPMC Insurance Services Division and specifically UPMC Health Plan. In her current role, she is responsible for managing the Commercial Dedicated Team (CDT) of care management nurses and social workers, designing and implementing clinical initiatives to efficiently and effectively leverage clinical programming, while building and implementing a strategic clinical plan to address commercial cost trends.
Prior to joining UPMC Health Plan, Betsy worked as a senior program coordinator in child and adolescent research at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital.
