PA Department of Health Trainings for Clinicians and Non-Clinicians: Caring for People with Xylazine-Associated Wounds

The Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) and Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH), in collaboration with the Center for Forensic Science Research & Education (CSFRE), are providing virtual trainings to clinicians and non-clinicians on best practices for caring for individuals with xylazine-associated wounds. These trainings are offered at no-cost to attendees.

These trainings will be offered in two separate two-hour sessions for individuals and organizations who work in Pennsylvania. The first live webinar on Oct. 23 will be for nonclinicians and the second live webinar on Nov. 6 will be for clinicians.

As of October 1, 2025, UPMC Health Plan continues to accept the submission of telehealth claims. Providers may conduct telehealth visits for UPMC Health Plan members in all UPMC Insurance products. UPMC Insurance products include UPMC Advantage group and individual products, UPMC for Life Medicare Advantage plans, UPMC for Kids CHIP plans, UPMC Community HealthChoices, and UPMC for You Medical Assistance plans.
