What's New for 2023

Changes to both the Standard Option and HDHP

  • Your share of the non-postal premium will increase for Self Only/Self Plus One/Self and Family.
  • UPMC Health Plan will now use the UPMC Vision Care network, which will give all members access to a national network of more than 50,000 providers through National Vision Administrators (NVA®). UPMC Health Plan previously used the UPMC Vision Advantage network.
  • All members (including children) will now be eligible for a routine eye examination every 24 months. Previously, adults were eligible for a routine eye examination once every 24 months and children (under age 19) were eligible every 12 months.

Changes to the Standard Option only

  • UPMC Health Plan is adding a Medicare Advantage Plan—UPMC for Life FEHB Retirees—for FEHB annuitants who are enrolled in our Standard Option HMO Plan and Medicare Parts A and B.
  • Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) for all infertility diagnoses is being added to the existing Iatrogenic Infertility Coverage and will be included in the lifetime maximum of $25,000 per member. Your cost sharing is 20 percent of our allowance after the calendar-year deductible. Coverage of the member’s preserved specimen is only available while the member is enrolled with UPMC Health Plan. You are responsible for the cost once the member’s enrollment terminates or reaches the $25,000 maximum lifetime benefit. Prior authorization is required.
