The Federal No Surprises Act within the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 provides for out-of-network and balance billing protections for out-of-network Emergency, Air Ambulance, and certain services rendered at in-network facilities. The Act creates specific negotiation and dispute resolution protocols between payer and provider.
