Fraud Alert

UPMC Health Plan is aware of a nationwide scam affecting health insurers and their members. Fraudulent claims for Durable Medical Equipment are being submitted, and some UPMC Health Plan members may be impacted.

We are actively working to stop these claims, but we encourage members to carefully review their Explanations of Benefits, billing statements and/or claims posted on the Health Plan member site for charges that seem suspicious or services they did not receive.

Members who believe they were charged for a fraudulent service and their Explanation of Benefits does not show a denied claim should call UPMC Health Plan at 1-844-220-4785 (TTY: 711).
